Keeping Connected

During this unprecedented time of COVID-19, we have to socially distance or isolate ourselves for the well being of everyone. Although these measures are necessary, as humans we are social beings and the inability to socialize and connect with friends, families and neighbours can be a very challenging time. Being quarantined in our homes means we are all in lockdown. However, lockdown does not have to mean loneliness.

We understand how stressful or alone one may feel. Thus, MPL is excited to launch a new initiative: Keeping Connected. Keeping Connected aims to ensure that our older adult members in the community are staying connected whilst being physically apart.

Library staff will contact our customers via phone for a friendly chat. We want to know how you’re doing and how we can help. We can offer information regarding all the resources and services that MPL is providing during this time. Or, we can just say hello, and chat about the weather.

When you hang up your phone, we hope we were able to put a smile on your face and that you know that as a community, we are all in this together.

If you want to connect with MPL staff, simply fill out this online form and you will receive a call from us.
