Study Room Guidelines

Study rooms are available but must be reserved through staff in person or via phone or via our Live Chat. Due to COVID considerations, the capacity for our study rooms are reduced to keep everyone safe. Please familiarize yourself with the safety protocols before visiting. 

Small Study Rooms 

  • The capacity of each small study room is 1 person only, or 2 people from the same household where stated. 
  • Each study room is available for a maximum of 2 hours per day, per individual/group
  • Reserved rooms must be claimed within 15 minutes of booking starting time or they can be booked by another customer. 
  • Staff reserve the right to cancel bookings for customers whose booking exceeds the daily limit or violates these guidelines without notice. 

Games of chance, charitable fundraising, and sale of goods and services are prohibited on the library premises unless authorized by the Markham Public Library board.

COVID Safety Protocols

To ensure everyone’s safety at the Library, the following rules have been put in place. Please make sure to follow all of these safety protocols. 

  • Wear a mask at all times inside of the study room and anywhere else in the branch. 
  • Food and drink are not allowed in the study rooms. 
  • Adhere to the capacity limits. 
  • 30 minutes is required after bookings to allow for branch cleaning protocols in between customers.
