In October we celebrate Canadian Library Month and Ontario Public Library Week, which is from October 16th to 22nd this year. This year’s theme for Ontario Public Library Week is “One Card, One Million Possibilities”. Markham Public Library provides many resources to our public, both online and in person. We have various items available to borrow from musical instruments to the latest best-selling novels. You can attend library programs to learn about something new, or just sit and study for a test. We have warm areas to hangout and socialize or quiet places like study rooms to enjoy in silence. There are also washrooms to use, if you need. Wondering how you can celebrate Ontario Public Library Week? Well, here are some suggestions:
- Come and visit your local public library and browse our collections including our new Music Library, where you can borrow musical instruments, at the Markham Village Library. We also have some new Dementia Care Kits to borrow!
- Participate in the variety of free library programs available to learn about new things online or in-person.
- Take a look at our website and browse our online content like blogs, reading lists, Hoopla and so much more.
- Get a library card. We even have library cards for kids!
