Markham is getting ready for an unforgettable week of speed, celebration, and community pride as the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham brings professional racing excitement to Markham Centre.
Whether you plan to be trackside, join the launch celebration, or cheer from home, there are plenty of ways to be part of the action.
Celebrate the Kickoff in Markham Centre
The excitement begins with the Indy Launch Party on Monday, August 10, from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM, at Birchmount Road and Enterprise Boulevard in Markham Centre.
The community is invited to help launch Indy week with the raising of the official Indy flag. The celebration will include free family-friendly entertainment refreshments, airbrush tattoos, a racing simulator, and live musical performances. Markham-born racing driver Demi Chalkias will also be on site to share her connection to Markham and her journey into racing.
It’s a great opportunity to bring the family, connect with neighbours, and help welcome race fans to our city.
Planning to Attend? Map Out Your Trip Early
Planning ahead will make the experience smoother and more enjoyable. Between August 12 and 18, there will be road closures in and around Markham Centre. Make It Easy: Take GO Transit
If you want to avoid traffic and parking stress, GO Transit is a convenient option. The Unionville GO Station is at the centre of the Indy action. Children 12 and under ride free on GO Transit with a ticketed adult, making this a great choice for families heading to the event.

One of the easiest ways to experience the race atmosphere is through Free Fan Friday on August 14, which offers general admission with a voluntary donation to Make-A-Wish Canada. Since 2010, Free Fan Friday has raised more than $1 million for the charity.

Watching from Home? Make It a Race Day Celebration
Not able to attend in person? Create your own race day experience with a watch party at home with friends and family. The race will be broadcast on Sunday at noon on TSN1, TSN3, TSN+, and CTV2. Set the scene with checkered flags and mini pylons. Serve up Pit Stop Sliders or Fuel Up Nachos. Break out the kids' remote cars and have a race. Whether you watch every lap or just tune in to feel the energy of the event, celebrating at home is another great way to share in the community spirit.
