Key Dates

Voting Day: February 27, 2025

Find the closest polling station in your electoral district, opens a new window. Voting location information will become available after February 14.

Voter Registration Deadlines: February 17

Advance Voting Dates: February 20 – 22 (10 AM – 8 PM)

You can find the advance voting locations in your electoral district, opens a new window after February 14.

Deadline to Apply for Mail-in Voting: To vote by mail, apply to vote, opens a new window by mail by February 21, 6 PM.

 
How to Vote

Below are the 5 steps you need to complete to vote:

  1. Check your voting eligibility. To vote in the provincial election, you must be:
      • 18 years of age or older;
      • a Canadian citizen; and
      • a resident of Ontario
  1. To ensure you are ready to vote, update your voter registration, opens a new window if you have moved. Voter Information Cards will be sent by mail from February 17 – 22. The card will include information on when and where to vote on election day.
  1. Find your electoral district, opens a new window and learn information on local candidates. There are three electoral districts in Markham:
  1. Ensure you have the right IDs to vote. You must bring your Voter Information Card and one piece of ID showing your name to receive a ballot. If you did not receive a Voter Information Card, you can vote with one piece of ID showing both your name and home address. Check the full list of accepted IDs, opens a new window.
  1. Choose your method of voting:
      • Vote on advanced voting days and locations between February 20-22.
      • Vote on elections day February 27
      • Vote by mail  by mail by February 21, 6 PM.  After your application is processed, you will receive a voting kit with a ballot at the mailing address provided.
      • Vote by home visit if you are unable to visit a voting location and/or require assistance to vote. To submit a request to vote by home visit, contact your local election office, opens a new window by 6 PM on February 26.
