Library Policies

Public libraries play an integral part in promoting a culture that fosters inclusion and recognizes diversity. It is our goal to work with the community to create services that are inclusive, accessible and dignified.

We strive to deliver inclusive services. We recognize and affirm the dignity of those we serve regardless of gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, socio-economic status, age, mental health, ability, race, culture, ethnicity and beliefs.
We will:

• Provide ongoing training and supports to increase inclusion awareness among our staff
• Identify and engage underserved and marginalized groups in our community through consultation to identify opportunities in programs, collections and services in-branch as well as online
• Connect with under-represented and marginalized groups to understand their concerns and find opportunities to advocate for them.
