Treaties Recognition Week

Treaties Recognition Week was established in 2016, and it is celebrated the first week of November. This week raises awareness of the importance of treaties and treaty relationships in Ontario. Education about treaty history and rights is an important step in fostering understanding and nurturing relationships.

November 6 from 10:30 am to 12 noon, we invite you you to join the virtual Living Library event “We are all Treaty People.” This event features Robert Greene and Maurice Switzer in a one-hour panel discussion, followed by an opportunity to ask questions. You can read more about this event and register here, opens a new window.

If you’re unable to attend, a recording of this session will be posted on https://www.ontario.ca/page/treaties, opens a new window after the event. You can check out that site for other video stories, opens a new window from previous years from schools across the province.
