Find Your Holiday Baking Inspiration

Do you have a favourite holiday tradition that you turn to every year? Or are you looking to start a new one? Baking for the holidays is a custom across many cultures, as families come together to celebrate and eat delicious treats. Whether you like to bake together with your loved ones or take the task on all by yourself, below are some of our favourite big-batch baking tips for all of your entertaining and gift-giving needs:

  1. Try out the recipe first

We’ve all had that one baking fail that made us discouraged to ever try again. But creating a disastrous dessert is actually part of the fun, as you get to try different recipes until you find the perfect one. Remember, it’s not always your baking skills that are the reason. Different ovens, the quality of ingredients, and the tools you use can all play a major role in what your end results look like. Remember, practice makes perfect!

  1. Freeze it up

Of course it's better to have freshly baked goods, but if you have to make over 300 different cookies for the holidays, it might be hard to find time to do it all in one day. Did you know that some desserts freeze really well and can stay in the freezer for up to one month? While we don’t recommend freezing assembled desserts, freezing individual cake layers or plain cookies will make holiday baking stress-free.

  1. Create a baking schedule

If you are entertaining this holiday season, make sure that you have a plan for all of the delicious treats on your to-make list. It’s probably not a good idea to make everything in one day, so remember to give yourself plenty of time to prepare. After all, baking is supposed to be fun!

  1. Take a baking course
