Coding is an increasingly valuable skill in today's society and whether you are learning to code for the first time or hoping to learn a new coding language, Markham Public Library is committed to supporting everyone's coding journey!

This Digital Literacy Week, we are highlighting five free ways that you can learn to code using your MPL library card!

Fiero Code

Fiero Code is an online platform that you can use to learn different programming skills. Fiero Code offers fun and engaging lessons and activities for young learners that can be completed at your own pace.

More advanced learners can also select from a variety of courses developed for specific career pathways such as the Web Developer, Game Developer, or Front-End Web Developer pathways.

Udemy

Udemy offers a wide range of courses on topics ranging from business and finance to crafts and hobbies. But did you know that Udemy also offers courses on coding? Coding classes on Udemy are offered in different languages and can be completed virtually and at your own pace. Many of the classes also offer coding exercises, practice tests, and certificates that you can add to your resume or LinkedIn profile.

Whether you are completely new to coding or looking to further your understanding about a more specific topic, Udemy has a course to help!
