Family Literacy Day 2023

Family Literacy Day

Family Literacy Day started in 1999 to raise awareness about the importance of reading and engaging in other literacy-related activities as a family. This year’s Family Literacy Day theme is 'Celebrate your heritage'. Canada is a great diverse country full of different cultures. Take time to explore and learn about your heritage and culture with your kids.

Join us for a Family Literacy Day party at Milliken Mills Library on January 28 from 10 AM to 1 PM! Enjoy literacy-based activities, storytime with local authors, some STEAM fun and raffle for prizes for participating in all the booths. Together with your family, let’s celebrate reading.

Celebrate your Heritage

Get a Kids Library Card. It's FINE FREE!

Did you know that MPL has eliminated overdue fines for all kids and teens with a Kids Library Card? This means kids and teens can enjoy the library without having to worry about returning their items a few days late! If you are still checking out kids books using your adult card, then make the switch today! If you never got a library card, then this is your call to get one for your kids and of course an adult card for yourself because we've got lots in store for the whole family.
