Help local families offset the cost of back-to-school essentials
As the new school year approaches, Markham Public Library (MPL) is inviting the community to come together and give back. Donate new school supplies and help local families prepare for a successful start to the school year.
School supplies collected through the Back to School Supplies Drive will be distributed during MPL’s Back to School Giveaway, helping offset the cost of essential back-to-school items for families in our community.
Donation Dates:
Drop off your donations at the designated collection box at any MPL locations between July 20 to August 10, 2026.
We are Collecting:
We are collecting the following items in new, excellent and great conditions.
- Pencils, pens and erasers
- Notebooks and folders
- Pencil crayons and markers
- Arts & craft supplies
- Backpacks
- Lunch bags
- Calculators
We Cannot Accept:
- Electronics/ devices (e.g., computers, speakers, earphones)
- Water bottles
- Clothing/shoes
Every donation helps local students head back to school with the supplies they need to learn, grow and succeed. Thank you for supporting our community.
