Markham Public Library Celebrates Pride Month

Pride Month Programs

Pride Month is a celebration of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, pansexual, Two-Spirit, asexual and ally (LGBTQQIP2SAA or LGBTQ2+) communities. It is a time to learn about and recognize the rights and achievements of people belonging to this community: the right to marry, right to adopt and legal equality. In Canada, there is a long history of celebrating Pride, with its start in the early 1970s. MPL is recognizing Pride Month with a number of virtual events, blogs and reading lists for you.
