Let’s Celebrate Earth Day!

What is Earth Day and how can we help? Earth Day is an annual event that takes place on April 22nd which raises awareness of environmental issues including pollution and highlights the importance of being advocates to keep our environment clean.  Earth Day provides us an opportunity to reflect on how we can reduce our carbon imprint and how we can care for the planet’s environment.

Earth Day Activities for Children

  • As a family, discuss various ways to reduce, reuse and recycle on a daily basis. For example, instead of using plastic bags, what are some other alternatives?
  • Have a conversation with children about what they can do to help the Earth and to reduce pollution. For instance, some ideas include participating in a clean-up effort in the community, turning off the tap when the water is not being used, turning off the lights when they are not in use, using a reusable water bottle rather than plastic water bottles)
