October is Canadian Islamic Heritage Month which aims to recognize and celebrate the significant contributions Muslims have made to Canadian society. It is also a time to reflect, learn and appreciate the Muslim heritage and culture in Canada.

Islamic Society of Markham Islamic Heritage Month Open House

Thank you to those who visited the Islamic Society of Markham’s booth at the Aaniin Community Centre & Library on October 7th and 14th.

Learn more about Islam and what it means to be a Muslim at an Open House being hosted by the Islamic Society of Markham on October 29th from 10:30 am to 1:45 pm.  All community and faith groups are welcome to attend for a tour of the mosque and a discussion with a local Imam that will help answer any questions or misconceptions about the faith.  A light breakfast will also be served.
