2020: The Year of Youth Empowerment - Arts & Design Competition
2020 was a BIG year! The world got flipped upside down with a pandemic, politics, racism, hate and so much more. Young people are often overlooked and suffer the most from a disruption in their education, social life, and overall well-being. We want to change that. We want to let the next generation's voice be heard loud and clear. However, how can we do that in a positive way? Art is the answer. Not only is making art therapeutic but its expressiveness can also mean more than a thousand words. The Creative Genius Academy asked youth from around Canada to submit their original artwork expressing their take on today's global social-political topics. Creative Genius Academy has partnered with Markham Public Library to present this virtual exhibit of the winning entries to you. Click on the each artwork and you will be able to read the ideas behind the art.
