Find Your Perfect Summer Reading Spot in Markham
Summer is a great time to slow down, get outside, and enjoy a good book. Whether you're reading a few chapters on your lunch break or spending the afternoon with your latest book, there are lots of great places around Markham to unwind.
If you're looking for somewhere new to read, try Toogood Pond Park for its peaceful waterfront views, or take a chair or blanket to Milne Dam Conservation Park and enjoy the fresh air by the water. If you prefer something more quiet, Rouge National Urban Park has lots of trails and shady spots where you can relax with a book. You could also take a walk through Main Street Unionville, grab your favourite treat, and find a bench to enjoy a few chapters.
Of course, not every summer day is perfect for reading outside. When the weather isn’t cooperating outside, any of our Markham Public Library branches would be a great place to spend the day. Each of our eight branches has its own unique atmosphere, whether you're looking for a quiet reading nook, a sunny window seat, or a comfortable chair to settle into with your latest read. Before you head out—or settle in—don't forget to browse our collection of books, eBooks, and audiobooks. You might just find your next favourite read.
Do you have a favourite place to read in Markham? We'd love to hear about it! Share your favourite reading spot with us the next time you visit one of our branches or let us know on social media.
Happy reading!
