Calling Kids in Grades 1 to 3: Join MPL's Kids Reading Challenge
Help your child build confidence, strengthen literacy skills, and discover the joy of reading by joining Markham Public Library’s Kids Reading Challenge—designed especially for children in Grades 1–3. Through fun, achievable reading activities, kids are encouraged to read regularly, try new books, and feel proud of their progress.
Families are also invited to join our Kids Reading Challenge Meetups happening in January, where kids can connect with other young readers. It’s a great way to make reading social, playful, and motivating!
Kids are also encouraged to take part in our exciting Battle of the Best Book Character Contest to celebrate their favourite book characters by sharing who they love and why.
